Hi there;
I am running a Sony laptop with Win 98 Second Edition and Internet Explorer 6.0. I use www.google.com as my home page.
Before I ran CCleaner the Google search block would retain a history of things I'd type in and if I just typed in a letter or two it would drop down a menu and I could select an item. I would regularly delete entries I didn't need by highlighting them and hitting the delete key.
After I ran CCleaner not only did it wipe out all my entries that I was saving but it somehow turned off the drop down menu feature in Internet Explorer. Nothing I type into the Google search block gets saved and nothing I type into the address bar in IE gets saved. I tried restoring the registry but that didn't help.
I know most people want to turn off the AutoComplete but I want to get it back! I've gone to Tools/InternetOptions and turned on the AutoComplete for Web Addresses and Forms but that didn't help.
I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me how to restore the drop down menu feature. I'm getting tired of typing in the whole search string everytime I want to Google something.
Thanks for your help.
