Need fix for Kamo slowing down internet speed to a crawl

I use T-Mobile Home Internet. On my phone I was getting 200+ Mbps. But on my PC I was getting only 20-30 Mbps.

I suspected that Kamo had something to do with it. And I was right.

After uninstalling, my download speeds were like those on my phone.

BTW I read here that Kamo hides itself from the Windows uninstaller. I just used Ccleaner to uninstall and there was no problem.

Would you be willing to clarify if this was with the Private Connection feature turned on or off? If on, that seems unfortunately possible - VPN technology will always slow down your connection, albeit that would be a rather extreme slowdown, of course.

It should have shown the location for the server that you were connected to, how close was this to your location?

In regards to uninstalling, one should certainly be able to find it with the Windows Control Panel/Settings app; and CCleaner uses exactly that same information (and process) for the uninstall tool. :)

I just renewed my subscription to 2 year premium and installed Kamo. I also am seeing a total degradation in internet speed. Since this was a problem from before can CCleaner share the solution so others can try it.

I've try changing the server to one that is closer nd also used a speed test server in the same city but still no success.

Really need help before I install this onto other computers.

I also heard that a simple uninstall leaves residual files so if the solution is that it will always slow things down to where it is not useful. Then please provide a clean uninstall procedure.

I also noticed this problem. I run windows 11. Also saw on reddit that there have been issues. Is it just not compatible with windows 11??

was a solution found my speed went from 333.7Mbps to .5Mbps. I tried just turning off Private connection that didn't help. Then turned of tracking protection that didn't help either. Finally just uninstalled Kamo and lo and behold speeds were back up to 333Mbps. Will there be a fix for this?

I noticed there have been a few topics regarding Kamo and internet speed some from last year. I was hoping that a general solution has been made available. If so can that be shared.

my internet speed is in the 300Mbp range when I installed Kamo it dropped to a value that registered as 0 in the speed test but I assume it was down in the kbps range since I was still able to access the internet albeit at a very painful pace. the upload speeds went from 40Mbp to 14Mbps so not as drastic a reduction. I run Windows 11. I scoured the internet and this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. So I am hoping this is either being worked on or I just need to get my hands on a solution.

Thank you

HI @JustCurious Our support team is eager to investigate further as it would be abnormal for you to experience such a substantial reduction in speeds, especially when considering how the Anti-tracking & Private Connection features of Kamo were turned off.

Would you be willing to reinstall Kamo, and if the problem remains, provide us with your Kamo logs?

You can save the Kamo logs using the following steps:

  • Open Kamo > click Menu > HELP
  • Click "SAVE LOGS"

Afterwards, a File Explorer window will appear with the Kamo_logs.zip file highlighted; please email these to our support team, using support@ccleaner.com.

Can you share what the other users did to resolve their issues?

Thank you

Hi @JustCurious, the most efficient way to help you with this will be to check your logs after you have reinstalled and tested to see if it persists. The situation you have described is quite unusual with regard to the severity of the speed reduction and with the features that would normally cause such things being turned off, an analyses of the logs would be warranted.

Our team will be happy to help once you have the logs - support@ccleaner.com
