name change?

It's been a while since the name change from the proper 'Crap Cleaner' to the boring 'Ccleaner.' I just thought I'd mention it sounds like nasty censorship on piriform's part. I just wondered why the change. I liked the old name better, and rename the shortcuts to that every time I install it on my computers.

CCleaner is the only name I've known and prefer.

As a matter of fact, I originally thought the C stood for C: Drive.

More of this? Reminds of this recent episode.

Get over it people, there's most likely nothing that can be done with the name that Piriform calls their applications.

Seeing this post did remind me of that other post. Two in a week sounds rather coincidental and both are new posters.

Strange...

That's true. I wonder why both posters that started each thread only posted that one time. Kinda suspicious...

Yep, remember a short while ago when a flock of new members signed on and added those little hidden links in their posts? Hazelnut got'em, but maybe this is some new initiative like that.

I actually doubt that. Those were one liners from definite spammers that I don't think have the cognitive skills to construct more.

Just a waste of time really.

"Now, how can you call all the data which we want to delete as CRAP, now if I say that I read religious articles, stuff, experiences on website, and/or I listen to religious discourses...and I want to use Cleaner after that. I just won't tolerate anybody calling those things as the word "C**P". I am sure lot of people would understand my sentiments here."

is this real? :D

I love the name ccleaner, with over 300million downloads you cant please every one,

Who even knows its CrapCleaner as its shortened to CCleaner almost always, it really shouln't be a problem.

Though this poster seems to want to un-censor it.....

"Crap" is inappropriate at times but not offensive... especially when talking about this lovable app ccleaner oops I mean CrapCleaner ;)

If it offends you, just move on with life, don't make a big deal about it,

there are more important moral things you could/should be standing up for.

I don't go making a big winge about DSL = D*mnSmallLinux

I wasn't aware of a previous post about the ridiculous name change/shortening. Two opposite opinions about the same thing from the same person doesn't make sense to me, so why someone thought I might have been the same guy as the other was a bit of a question mark for me.. The other guy sounds like a big imbecile, with the way he talks. And for anyone to censor the word "crap" is like censoring the words "poop" or "waste"- it's nonsensical and completely unnecessary, if you ask me. I'd understand if someone said they wanted it to be being called '$.h.i.t cleaner,' and someone complained, but crap cleaner.. ? Just seems a bit strange for anyone to baby off about that name. And the religious stuff he harped on about was probably more offensive to me than that silly word (crap) is to him, so if he's reading this- I'd appreciate if you'd keep that language to yourself.

I didn't mean to make it sound like I was complaining, I just meant to leave a simple general comment. I've used Crap Cleaner for a long long time, so that's how I knew it was called that before, and I had never seen it shortened until way after I'd first installed it. And unlike most home users, I don't have all my 'crap' on my c drive. In fact, all my temporary files of anything I use (including windows 7 itself and my browsers) are set to appear on my D drive........So I wouldn't think that's a reason for 'ccleaner' as other people do the same thing with their computers for performance reasons.

that's all for now.

O wad some Power the giftie gie us

To see oursels as ithers see us!

:D

To be honest, all he asked was why the change. Didn't ask for it to be changed back. Fair question.

Welcome back wolfey, nice to see you are not the same person, and we didn't scare you off. :)
