Multiple Write-over Data ?

Wondering whether it's possible to add an option to Settings etc to allow multiple-pass deletion of data ? This would ensure that the data removed by CCLeaner is fully removed and unrecoverable.

Most people know that Eraser - http://eraser.heidi.ie/ - does this but having this as part of CCleaner would be fantastic to ensure that data which is removed is truly removed and unrecoverable ?

What think ?

Hi andy, and welcome to Piriform.

The feature is already there in CCleaner, up to a 35 pass Gutmann secure delete.

Although it's debatable as to whether any more than a 1 pass secure delete is worth the effort.

Some information here:

Just to add to dennis, Regardless of any over write, you are still likely left with the spill of data either side of the data track that it was written to.
