Multiple Versions of Ccleaner Installed

When I started getting messages that my Ccleaner Pro was about to Expire and I was offered a Two Years for the Price of One Renewal, I ACCEPTED.

But that Package didn’t appear in the Versions available to Download. The CHEAPEST Offer (I’m a Pensioner so I’m always BROKE) was an Upgrade to Ccleaner PREMIUM for 40 something GBP..

That’s the one I Paid For, but when it came to INSTALLING it, my New Product Called Itself “Cleaner Pro Plus”.

Install appeared to Complete OK, but now I find I have TWO Versions of Ccleaner Installed NEITHER of which call themselves “Premium” or “Pro Plus”. One is “Ccleaner 7” and the other just Ccleaner.

BUT …. every time my PC is Idle ANOTHER Ccleaner INSTALLATION Screen Pops Up asking me to “Install my New Ccleaner”. I’ve already had to Cancel this Invitation nearly TWO DOZEN TIMES,

WHY is there No Version called “Ccleaner Pro Plus” on my PC ? Which existing Version should I UNINSTALL (or BOTH of them), and is this 3rd Copy that keeps asking me to Install it the PREMIUM Version that I can’t find ?

‘Pro Plus’ and ‘Premium’ are multi-device licences that allow you to install ‘CCleaner Professional’ on more than one machine.

There is no app called CCleaner Pro Plus or CCleaner Premium.
There is only one CCleaner app which starts as CCleaner Free and if/when you enter a licence key it becomes CCleaner Professional.

Let’s sort your double installs out first of all.
CCleaner 7 is a dog, it doesn’t work properly, so until they sort it out I would open the ‘CCleaner’, (not the CCleaner 7), it should be version 6.39 like this:

Go to Options>Updates and untick both boxes there to prevent it trying to update to CCleaner 7:
(It will be that which keeps asking you again).

Close CCleaner.

Now Go to Windows Settings>Apps>Installed apps and you should see both CCleaner and CCleaner 7.
In Windows 10 click the CCleaner 7 line and select ‘Uninstall’ to remove CCleaner 7,

In Windows 11 it’s the 3-dots at the end of the line that you click,
This is only showing CCleaner because I have already uninstalled CCleaner 7.

Restart (not Shutdown) your computer and you should now have just CCleaner v6.39, and it shouldn’t try to update to CCleaner 7 anymore.

Now see the next post about your licence and how to check what you have.

This is a user forum. We do not have access to accounts/billing here.

But from what you say I think that you still only have one licence.

There are a few ways that you can check.

If you want to manage your subscription then there is a webpage for that here: Subscription Management
If you need to look up your Cleverbridge reference then: Customer Support Contact Page
If you need to look up your CCleaner licence key then use this tool: CCleaner.com - License Lookup

Alternatively contact support and ask them how many subscriptions you currently have.

All customers MUST now access a ‘Live Chat’ support service.
To start raise a support ticket by using this: Contact Form.
Once you submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
Below that is the button to go straight into the ‘Live Chat’ where a virtual assistant will try to help you.
If the AI can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.

Note - We have been told that you HAVE TO engage with the chat or you may not get a reply to your request form. (Seems strange to me, but that is what we have been told).

MANY THANKS for ALL of your Help.

Firstly the - “there’s no Such Thing as CCleaner Premium” so why does my Download Screen say …..

After running my NEW CCleaner 6 it Deleted my Desktop Icon for CCleaner v6 and left only CCleaner v7

But now I’ve seen your Advice to TURN OFF the Auto Updates, and the Notify Me when there are Updates.

Is this a “SAFE” thing to do ? Over the last couple of years there have been SCORES & SCORES of Updates that I’ve always been advised to Install.

Or do I just IGNORE Updates UNTIL v7 is Working OK ?

Right now I will REMOVE CCleaner 7 (again), and Install v6, and TURN OFF the AUTO UPDATES before anything else.

I’ve been Retired for MANY YEARS after an Industrial Injury Ended my Career, so I don’t NEED a Pro Version of CCleaner. But after having used their FREE Software for Many Years I FELT GUILTY of Being a “PARASITE”. So about 15 years ago I thought it was time for me to PAY for the CLeaning Program I’d been using, and that I had recommended to Hundreds of my Customers. When my Licence next Expires I think I ought to “Downgrade” back to the Free Version again.

Thanks Again for your Help.

Firstly I did not say “no such thing”, obviously there is such a thing.

But it is not an app version, it is a subscription version that allows you to use the CCleaner app (and some other apps) in Professional mode on more than one device.

It’s more (plus) on the subscription, rather than any difference to how the app itself works.

If you like then think of rhe ‘Plus’ as the equivalent of a ‘Family ticket’ - the app is the same ‘CCleaner Professional’ but more can use it.

As for rolling back to v6.39 -

CCleaner v6.39 is/was the last version with the old User Interface. Unless they change their minds (which is unlikely, but never say never).

Thousands of users have already rolled back ti it, and will stay with it until CCleaner7 becomes usable. (Or until they just stop using CCleaner altogether).

If you allow an update from v6.39 then it will just give you a CCleaner 7 version again - so yes turn off the Automatic updating.
