MSVCR70. DLL not found

I tried to install a program but got the message MSVCR70. DLL not found. I signed up for C Cleaner professional expecting that to be fixed. It wasn’t so I cancelled my membership.

how could a junk cleaner fix a dll error in another application?

I don’t know. I am a user not a techy wizard, I assumed that dll files were part of Windows 11 and CCleaner would repair any missing or damaged. Perhaps you can tell me how to fix the problem.

msvcr70.dll is a Microsoft file that the application depends on. Per Microsoft instructions (here), the application is responsible for installing this file. If it fails to do that, you can try to contact the authors of the application and ask them to fix it.

Btw. what application is it? This file is part of a technology that is over 20 years old. Isn’t there a newer alternative for that application?
