Make File Finder MUCH SAFER via Recycle Bin

Deletion is a drastic step which may be difficult for a novice to recover from.

I suggest an option (preferably the default option) of Deletion to the Recycle Bin,

and a pop-up or alternative notice advising to NOT empty the bin until after rebooting and checking that the duplicates really are redundant before emptying the bin.

maybe even take it a step further and NOT have File Finder delete at all.

it should be help enough that it lists for you the duplicates and gives you an idea of the file sizes involved.

with all the manually investigation needed to double check the results, the time/effort required and the hugely potential negative outcome.

this would also allow Piriform to 'take a step back' from getting blamed by novice users you will just do as the program tells them.

I can only see this feature bringing a negative mo-jo to the product.

Or maybe use a method similar to the registry cleaner. Offer to make backups, store them in a user designated folder to be deleted when everything still works.
