Loss of Windows 7 user profile

Until now I have been a faithful user of Defraggler but I have had major problems with it this weekend and wonder if anyone could provide advice.

I have been setting up a new Samsung RV511 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit edition. I configured the system with the os on a primary partition and two logical drives in the extended partition - one to hold data & user profiles etc and another to hold system backups. After running defraggler on the primary partition it seems to complete successfully, but when I then reboot the system the user profile cannot be found and I am unable to logon. I rebooted the system from a flash drive to check the partitions to find that the two extended partitions seem to have been wiped. The partition manager on my emergency boot disk reports the former extended partitions as being unformatted 'free space'. On both occasions I've had to restore the Samsung system image and start to setup windows 7 again from scratch.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Was the installation conventional with C:\ preceded by a hidden 100 MB partition ?

Did you defrag the primary DRIVE or the System C:\ partition ?
