License key an error occured

Hello everyone, my C cleaner professional just renewed and I’m trying to download the product. Every time I do it says an error occurred please check back later and it’s been doing that for three days. I emailed customer support three days ago and still have not heard back from them. Can someone please help me I need my product license key ASAP. Thank you

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. If it continues I will simply not renew

I am having the same problem. A screen comes up showing error 0xA0010006. There is a link for “contact support”, but that makes me take an “I am not a robot” test that I never pass (I tried 12 times and gave up). Did this ever get resolved?

Hi @MikeCC23,
This error is due to too many activation requests being made in a short window from the same IP address.
You may have tried activating multiple times in quick succession and this caused the error.
This limit resets after a short time period, usually an hour, so please wait a couple of hours before retrying to activate your license.
If you have any issues, please message me back.

Thank you for your help. I tried again yesterday, a few hours after getting your reply, and I got the same error. I tried again today, and the same error again. This is on my laptop, where I have newly installed CCleaner 7. I got the error the first time I tried to enter the license key – I had not been trying multiple times.

How are you entering the key (typing? copying and pasting?)

Hello Nergal- one time I typed it in, but the other (several) times I copy/pasted from a text file where I have it saved.

Just to confirm – my license is for CCleaner Professional, expiring in August, 2027. I have it installed on my desktop PC (Windows 11), which I recently reset so I had to reinstall it, and it is working fine. Now I am trying to put it on my Windows 11 laptop, and that is where I am having this problem.

Thank you for your help.

@MikeCC23, please send me a screenshot of the error you are seeing and send us CCleaner support tool log files using the instructions below so we can investigate this further.

  1. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool using the link below: https://download.ccleaner.com/CCleanerSupportTool.exe
  2. Replicate the issue on your end.
  3. Run the tool to generate the logs.
  4. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.

Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

If you have any issues, please let me know.

Hello Laurence,

I think I have solved the problem. I tried turning off my AVG VPN, and after doing that the license key went through fine. CCleaner now shows my license, with the correct expiration date.

So, thank you very much for your help, and I think I am all set.

Mike
