I'm unable to download the latest CCleaner for the following reason:
C:\DOCUME~\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\8a2158c4.exe could not be saved,because the source file could not be read.Try again later,or contact the service administrator.
Please help.I'm new to computers.
Start > Run > chkdsk C: /R /F
Answer Y when prompted to schedule the chkdsk on the next restart. Then restart your computer. The chkdsk can take up to several hours. Once back up and running, open your current CCleaner version and clean out all of the temp files, etc. Then re-download the new version of CCleaner and try to reinstall it.

Still get the same message after chkdsk.Any other info?
What exactly is the problem? Have you downloaded it? Or is it simply unable to open once you do so?
It looks like Windows is having a problem with it because you tried to "open" the installer.
Try downloading it again, and don't click "Open." Instead "Save" to an easy-to-find folder (I would recommend the desktop) and then open it that way.

The problem is I cannot save the file to open on my desktop.Here is the sequence I,ve tried after defrag,chkdsk,scan for virus Norton & Webroot Spy Sweeper:
Click:check for updates now----new version,v1.29.295 is available.Click here to download----In filehippo.com download latest version.If I left-click,get message file cannot be saved;if I right-click,save link to desk-top.Cannot download from this link.Have had no problems in the past.Please help.

Thank-you Hazelnut.Downloading from this site worked.Whenever I was instructed to "save-desktop-double click",I right-click,save link as,desktop and double-click.
