laptop freezes

my laptop freezes up at any point, i tried piriform regristry cleaner, defragment, cleanup i have windows xp HELP

Can you give a bit more info please?

Do you mean it is freezing when you try to use ccleaner, or when you are using yourlaptop normally?

What anti virus and anti malware programs do you have installed?

Are they up to date and showing clean after a scan?

freezes randomly i have verizon internet security suite

It may be an idea to consider following what steps you are able to from here

http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=20120

and then post any logs you have managed to do in the Spywware Hell part of the forum

Random freezing can be a sign of pending hard drive failure so I would suggest you check the S.M.A.R.T status with HD Tune and run chkdsk.exe /r

Also having this Freezing problem. About one minute into running ccleaner it freezes and locks-up my PC.

Tried:

1. reinstalling ccleaner

2. reinstalling OS from original CD's

3. run system checks for memory, harddrive, cpu

Hardware:

Toshiba Laptop T3200, 3gb ram, 160 gb hd

Software:

Windows Vista fully patched

Possible culprit Kaspersky Internet Security suite 11.0.0.232(a)

"Freezing" may also be caused by overheating - check your temperatures with Speedfan.

Also try excluding the Kaspersky folder in ccleaner exclusions.

I'm not sure if this is related to your problem or not, but I thought I would pass it along anyway. Your mentioning "Kaspersky" and "Toshiba laptop" made me remember something I had read a few months ago.

I use ZoneAlarm which uses the Kaspersky a/v-a/s engine. The ZA user forum addressed a problem with ZA on Toshiba laptops some time ago, running "Atheros Wi-Fi Protected Setup Library." You might want to see if it applies in your case.

Sorry, I do not intend to be rude, but it is better to reserve this topic for Kenny100.

It belongs to him.

If every one with a Laptop problem jumps into this topic it becomes impossible to know which answer applies to which problem.

It would be far better to have 100 off topics each called "Laptop Freezes" which are shown as started by 100 people.

In some forums I have seen single topics with up to 6 different people that start with similar symptoms,

and degenerate into chaos as questions and answers reveal different causes and merit different solutions.
