When I watched this file then it confirmed I never should join Facebook (any time (soon)).

"The permission is clearly disclosed on the app page in the Android marketplace and is in anticipation of new features that enable users to integrate Facebook features with their texts," a spokesman for Facebook said in a statement. True in general - BUT NOT WITH FACEBOOK

Which changes security defaults without notice on a frequent basis, and automatically imposes those new defaults.

That's true, and I consider it unethical. New options should be opt-in
