issue with Index.dat deletion

In the last few months I've noticed that after running CCleaner that my index.dat file is deleted and is forced to rebuild. This takes a day or longer to complete and I can search my emails and files until this is complete - a huge problem. I did the logical thing by unchecking the index.dat file to avoid this but it continues to delete the file and force the rebuild. I'm not sure if this is a change to CCleaner or if it's something in my registry.

More information - I'm running the latest version of ccleaner - free version v3.19.1721 (64-bit) and Windows 7 Home Premium - everything is up to date.

My steps - I've uninstalled and re-installed ccleaner, this is the only issue, everything else is running perfectly.

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

How you know it's index.dat causing this? Are you trying to search your emails through Windows Search or something else?

Have you checked your indexing settings and tried to untick "MS Search" under Applications - Windows?

Thanks. I unchecked the MS Search option in ccleaner and everything is good. I actually went further and verified the settings for MS Search and cleaned that up also. THANKS - I'm back to ccleaner!!!
