Issue with external USB HD

Just tried Defraggler on my external USB drive (to be clear, i mean an hard disk in USB box, not a pen drive).

This disk have 2 partitions, both using FAT32 system file. Analyzing the first 15 GB partition all works fine.

Analyzing the second one (65 GB) cause a computer restart (about at 40% of analysis progress).

Tried four or five times, and every time i get the same behaviour.

My computer restart with no visible crashes, just restart.

I wonder this can be due to something wrong on my system, but would be nice if some

other user having an external USB drive make some test and/or investigation.

Thanks :)

I have a 500 Gig External and ive tryd it on my other system that has it and it works fine

it had no restart and went all the way

I think I had the same problem. My PC suddently shut down this morning, properly but while I had many applications running, including a big MPEG2 to divx conversion which was lost ! I was at that time playing with Defraggler, but cannot remember exactly what I was doing ! So at this stage it's just a hint, nothing more.

I'm wondering the culprit were some very big files (about 2 or 3 GB) saved on that drive (ghost images made by Acronis True Image).

After i have wiped them from the disk, Defraggler Analyze complete with no more problems. However, before delete those files, that

drive was defragged flawless using the default Windows tool. Also running on it Checkdisk and Scandisk no issues were found.
