There is no need to post multiple times, I have pulled them all together.

Yes there is a special way of recovering non-deleted files with Recuva.

It is used when you are wanting to recover the undeleted files from a crashed or reformatted drive.

However I’m not sure if it will get anything from gone-bad sectors if they cannot be reformatted, but you can try.
You may need to reformat the drive though. (So of course you would copy any files that are still ‘live’ off it and then delete them before doing a quick format).
