Has anyone noticed a new service installed on your computer - NVIDIA Settings Update Manager Service? Like the name implies, it is used to check for new updates from the NVIDIA server. It was automatically installed on my PC today.
I question that this is even necessary. Before I disable it I wanted your opinion on the matter, in case you fine knowledgeable people recommend leaving it alone.
just to let you know first hand, I have been stopping/removing that nvidia auto-update feature for at least the last 6 months (probably more like 12) will no ill effects.
of course, as you state, you simply lose the auto update feature which, for me, wasn't a biggie, as I manually update my drivers at best, and at worst just leave them for Windows Update to pick up.
I think I have read elsewhere that the Updatususer account won't be created if you install drivers manually and disable auto-updates inside installation options.
