After installing various verions of CCleaner I'm confused as to why some versions seem lightning quick and others dog slow. ver 2.01 takes about 13 seconds to wipe a dod 3 pass 150mb temp internet file while 2.00 took 110 seconds. Ignoring the suspicious time differences is there anyway to determine if the program is actually working or just deleting the file names from the index.

Cannot answer your question about the varying time requirements, but you can use a file recovery program, like Recuva, to see if any deleted files are still on the hard drive.

Nothing suspicious, CCleaner 2.00 had a bug that caused it to run slow. 2.01 is quicker because that bug was fixed
