Is it safe to use the registry feature

I was wondering is it safe to use the registry feature on CCleaner, and if so when I do backup and want to restore the file. After the backup restoretion should I delete the .REG file or use I just leave it there.

CCleaner is the only registry cleaner that I trust. I've been using it for years and I trust it so much that I dont even make back ups when I use it anymore(I dont recommend you do that though at first). Anyway yes you can delete the .reg file after you restore it or feel you dont need it anymor.e

Similarly, I've been using the reg feature for years and my computer hasn't died on me or anything and I rarely make back ups, unless it's for an entry I don't particularly recognize (95% of the time it's just uninstall leftovers anyways).

I think some people reported breaking their comps using the reg service, so I do recommend making backups for your first time at least. I usually just leave the .REG, though that's because I'm too lazy to delete.

Thank you, I just ran my scan and got a whole bunch of unusaul file extention of 3gg file, sfv, zo1, zfv, what are those. oh and I was wondering how offend should I run the registry feature for the program.

I run the cleaner about once a week, i normally do a full clean (with Winapp2.ini ( http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1110 )) and then run the registry checker.

The file exts you have are for things that you don't have a program to open with, but have opened a folder that contains them.
