Is ccleaner safe to use with a solid state drive?

I just purchased a 160GB solid state drive for my computer running Windows 7 professional. I understand ssds should be cared for in a slightly different way than standard hard drives. Is it safe to use ccleaner on a ssd?

Thanks,

Aaron

yes. you can use ccleaner on all kinds of drives even flash drives and memory cards.

For just straight up normal deleting like what Windows itself does I foresee no problems.

However with secure deletion/shredding and wipe free space you should probably look up some docs on the manufacturers website as to what that does to the SSD life expectancy.

whats the make/model?

Using ccleaner would be 100% safe, you only start getting problems when you write zeros to the drive.

If you want to remove everything hit the manufacturers website and check for firmware upgrades etc
