i missed running this when i first started ccleaner. i would do it now but it no longer pops up and i can't find it in the settings

Go to the 'Cookies' menu. Right click (to open the context menu) and click 'Intelligent Cookie Scan'

i didn't find a context menu but when i highlighted one of the cookies i saw the scan. wow. it didn't find many. i guess i will have to go through and pick them out myself.

It's not exactly obvious that it exists. Just right click in the "Cookies to Keep" area and select "Intelligent Scan".
