Installing to the root directory of a Windows drive causes installation failure

When installing CCleaner on a Windows system and selecting the root directory of a disk (e.g., D:), the installer generates an incorrect path like D:CCleaner(missing a \ after:). As a result, after installation, the desktop shortcut fails to launch. Checking theCCleanerfolder under theD: drive reveals that all files are empty.

If you manually edit the path during installation to add the missing \ (e.g.,D:\CCleaner), the installation completes normally.

Thanks for noting that if using the Advance install options to install CCleaner in a non-standard directiory then you have to specify the full folder name.

Lets see if we can work out what is happening.

As default CCleaner will install in C:\Program Files\CCleaner
(C: is the root directory on a Windows system).

You appear to be trying to install it directly onto D:\ with no sub-folder; - are you using ‘Browse’ to do that or are you typing the “D:” into the box yourself?
