It's incredible that in a so complex and great program the installer is so buggy and UX deficient... I have to check/uncheck every option of the installer every time an update is released :S same on all the other Piriform products!
It doesn't seem to be a big issue to me.
It's been a requested feature by a few people for several years. One way around it is to use the portable build.
Do you install on-top of the previous version ?
Or do you remove the old first and perform a clean instal ?
I think installing over the top/removing old version makes no difference. I assume that it would be a practical and good addition to allow a "remember my settings" type feature when updating, however, I assume that when a product like this is updated and new tools are added,it is wise to check your settings again anyway as to avoid missing the option to check a newly added feature such as the remove UAC message on startup with this newest version.
I think installing over the top/removing old version makes no difference.
That is in general totally wrong for any product - Piriform or otherwise.
If the old is cleanly removed there is nothing left to remember previous settings.
This topic concerns remembering past choices.
N.B. I have no experience of Piriform installer memories or lack thereof - I always unzip the Portable variants
I do agree with you about checking all settings and options after an update.
