Identifying a fragmented file

About two months ago a large section of (red) fragmented file suddenly popped up on my Disk Defragmenter programme and it won?t defrag. Since then I have discovered Defraggler, a much better method, but even it cannot defrag this sector. Is there any way, using Defraggler to be able to identify this fragmented file, so I can perhaps deal with it another way?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't find an answer myself.

On the Defraggler interface there's a 'File List' tab; after you run an analysis it lists all the fragmented files from the most fragmented to the least. But you can also hover your mouse over any block and you'll get a message that tells you how many files are in the block. Then click the block and a 'Highlighted' tab will appear that shows you the details of each file. It's also a good idea to maximize the window or you may not be able to see all the blocks. :)

Thanks Norel for your reply:

There are about 50 blocks of red, all identified the same in the file list as $MFT I then did a C drive search, and $MFT does not come up at all. What should do now? I want to either defrag the sector or get rid of it.

Could it be anything to do with my recent download of AVG antivirus programme I wonder?
