Identifies apps that need updating that were already up to date

Identifies apps that need updating that were already up to date. How remove them from list so that they won’t be identified until an update is needed.

Software updaters often know about updates before your installed app does.

That’s simply because app developers of widely used apps always stagger (dribble out) updates to different users over days or weeks, if they tried to update everybody at the same time they would overload their servers. (Which would probably crash).

So when you ‘check for updates’ in the app itself it may tell you that it’s up to date; but if you go to their website it may tell you that a new version has indeed been released. (It’s just not being offered to you in the app yet).

On the other hand software updaters sometimes get confused if there is a slight diference in the way the version number has been encoded. (eg is v3.10.01 later or earlier that v3.10.1 ?)

We have requested that ‘Skip’ and ‘Ignore’ buttons be added (similar to the ones in Driver Updater) but it hasn’t happened yet.

For now my best advice is to do the Ignoring yourself.
You don’t have to update something using an updater just because an updater says so.
It’s your choice if you want to update something or not. If you don’t like what any updater is telling you then stop using it.
(I’ve never used the ones in CCleaner to update anything, I let apps update themselves or I’ll update them from the apps’ own website).

That’s what I do. If ccleaner says that an app needs updating, I go to the app to see if irs been updated to the new version and if not i update it through the app.
