I have been using CC Cleaner for years without any problems it is great.
Somehow it will no longer work, I have a laptop with XP Home edition software.
I downloaded the latest CC softwhere.
After i ran the lastest software it found many registry errors that it fixed and no I did not save.
Now it will not run I get a error box and it states C:ProgramFiles\CCleaner.exe is not a valid win32 application.
I have no idea what that means or how to fix it?????? HELP!!!!!!
Hi Bob, and welcome to Piriform.
That error could mean a few things, and it would have helped if you had made the registry files back-up. That's so important.

However, assuming it could be due to removed registry entries, first thing is, have you tried a System Restore to a date before you ran the registry cleaner? System Restore also restores registry files.

How would I get to restore if I can not load CC ??
System Restore is in your operating system and runs independently of CCleaner. Go to Start \ Control Panel \ Backup and Restore Center \ Repair Windows using System Restore.
On my XP it's Start\Control Panel\Performance and Maintenance\System Restore up on the left in the "see also" panel.
Or ... Start\All Programs\PC Help & Tools\System Restore.
Just covering all possibilities and permutations here.
If you need any guidance with System Restore Bob, just post back.
Hi, Bob.
WXP home here, older style menu.
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time.

Just copy & paste this into your start/run box ---> restore/rstrui
Sorry for all the confusion here. This should bring System Restore right up in XP
