How to stop CCleaner wiping Firefox history

I cannot find any option either to stop CCleaner wiping the browsing history for Firefox or to be able to choose whether to wipe when closing Firefox. If I close Firefox and then open it again the history is still there, but if I start another program such as Word and then start Firefox, the history is empty. I have set Firefox to remember history. When I shut CCleaner down, the history is not wiped in this way, so CCleaner must be doing the wiping. I have set Firefox cache folders with path names too long to quote here to be excluded, but this is ineffective.

I would be grateful for advice on this. If CCleaner has no option to stop wiping Firefox, can I stop it being booted when the computer starts up?

Go to the second tab on the ccleaner cleaning section one of the first sets of entries there deal with firefox (under the Firefox section header)

As far as booting with the computer, go to options, monitoring and uncheck all three marks
