How to Roll Back from v7 to v6.39

We now have numerous posts from users dissapointed with the new v7 and asking if/how they can roll back to v6.39. Whilst normally I would say that you should use the latest version that works on your machine I also believe that you should have the choice to roll back from a major feature update. Particularly if/when that update is flawed. So here is how to do it using the official v6.39 installer. Follow ALL of the instructions, do not skip any, they are all important. Uninstall CCleaner …

The reversion process works fine, all the prior settings retained.

Some feedback to the users re if the “team” is going to listen to the feedback and make some pretty radical changes to v7, eg by retaining the things users miss eg the restore scan and the look and fell of v6 over the morbid freshly dead look of v7 would help. Otherwise, those claims of user help etc are pretty false. What v7 really looks like is some fresh from college programmers saying “wouldn’t it be cool if we ….”

None of this negative feedback occurred when prior upgraded versions were published - because the look and feel were retained and the scope of the tool (THAT’s WHAT IT IS) expanded to add features the users wanted.
