How to remove extraneous applications in CC menus?

The "Applications" tab in CCleaner still shows old programs I've removed long ago. For example, I still see Office 97, XP, 2003, 2007 as selectable entries, but I have _no_ Office installation at the moment. How do I remove these obsolete entries and clean-up my apps listings?

Thanks,

Delete

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\

from the registry

OK, thanks. I have a few other old ghosts beyond Office. Is it the same routine to delete those?

Yes, but you should proceed with caution when tinkering with the registry. Always do a backup copy first.

For thoroughly removing applications I would suggest using some application like Revo Uninstaller or such.

To find out all the rules (and their detect keys) you can

Type this into the run box on your PC

"C:\program files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe" /export

The " are important. Replace C:\program files\ccleaner\ with the location of your ccleaner in it is in a different location

Then open "winapp.ini" and search for the programs that are ghosting, you see a "detect" or a "detectfile" this is how you'll know what is left over and needs to be deleted

Most helpful, thanks. It'll be nice to have a clean, relevant listing for a change. I'll try it this weekend.
