I see no direct option to do this. The only option is to "wake" sleeping programs, but it seems "CCleanerPerformanceOptimizerService.exe" will always run in the background,
Or must I uninstall CCleaner and never enable CCleaner Performance Optimizer, again?
The above should be included in the FAQ, but it's not.
Thanks I've done that, as a temporary workaround. But that's not really a solution. CCleaner is forcing you to use this service after you tried it out. I'll just uninstall CCleaner and reinstall it..
Where are you seeing it running? Task Manager or somewhere else?
I don't know for sure but as a guess it may be possible that the new 'Health Status' feature may be re-enabling it?
If you have set the PO Service to 'Disabled' in Windows Services then it doesn't run and you will get an error message if you try to use it.
However if you have set the PO Service to 'Manual' in Windows Services then it doesn't run unless you open it yourself in CCleaner.
If you do open PO yourself the service will then continue to run until you stop it in Task Manager, or until you next restart the computer.
(The new 'Health Status; check may somehow be doing similar, eg. by opening PO to check the status?)
