How to clear "recent program list"

hi..i heard that i could use CCleaner to clear my recent program list..by checking the user assist history? however my advanced section in windows tab is greyed out..why is this so and what should i do? thanks :P

It's a UI style thing ... it's not actually disabled ... you should be able to check it :)

oh ya..i managed to check it..however now the start menu won't show the recently opened programs after i run the cleaner..what has happened? will start menu still show the recently opened programs anymore? 'cause i tried to open some programs and the start menu never show..

Ccleaner won't stop programs being added back onto that list, if that's what you mean.

It's not actually a recently open list, It's a most used list. So it will take a few running o applications before it starts to recreate the list.
