How to abort the Df.exe running?

Will pressing Ctrl+Break corrupt the hard disk?

Up until a few minutes ago, I'd never used Defraggler in that way, and there's no info that I can find regarding this on the Piriform Docs site.

The only way I could stop it when trying it just a few minutes ago, was to use the Task Manager and "End Process", which according to the info I linked you to, is a safe thing to do.

If there's another way, I'm sure one of the members will post it, or one of the developers, who do read these posts.

Thanks for trying out the command line df.exe.

While you use Task Manager, I use Ctrl+Break.

Nonetheless, such abrupt termination is enough to cause cardiac arrest in spite of your assurance.

Hope the developers will reveal the secret way to peacefully stop the df.exe

I agree, it does feel quite an uncomfortable thing to do.

I've used Task Manager quite a few times to "crash" df.exe and haven't seen any hard drive corruption as of yet.

Interrupting a defrag is something I would only do if it's absolutely unavoidable, and Defraggler is probably as safe as any in that situation.
