Only one person matches my first and last name in the US.
How many have your name?
There are 305,309,185 people in the United States of America. If everyone in the U.S. lined up single file, the line would stretch around the Earth almost 7 times. That's a lot of people.
The U.S. Census Bureau statistics tell us that there are at least 88,799 different last names and 5,163 different first names in common use in the United States. Some names are more common than others.
Using Tony as my first name it says there is one or less with my name.
I wouldn't want to be "or less" in your situation.
Maybe it's a cultural thing.
Either we have a lot of members with very unusual last names or just unusual for the U.S.
I have an unusual last name but there are thousands of households with that name in the U.S.
The figures are slanted or they want a lot of us to believe that it was easy to E-mail us with the junk because there are so few with our name that we were easy to find.
Watch out for the Genealogy E-mails that may be coming. Or worse "Congrats Soandso. You may be the heir to the unclaimed Soandso fortune !!! All we need is a little money and information to verify this."

P.S. On reviewing the prior posts I just realized that #336 seems to be a popular number.
Whats amiss? Lu Lu and Humpty and Rip chain all said there is only one person in the US with their name so the fact only one person has my name when using Anthony is no big deal. Thats four people in this thread with unique names. Using Tony it says one or less again no big thing considering with Anthony there is only one person and Anthony is far more popular than Tony.
