How do I defrag the registry with DEFRAGGLER?

I have been using Defraggler for awhile and have been happy with it for the most part.

I found by using another vendor's software, WinASO RegDefrag 1.0, that the registry was as much as 30% fragmented.

Does Defraggler have the capability to defrag the registry that I am not aware of?

Hello Seaborn,

Welcome !!! :P

Personally, I don't use registry defrag programs. I use NTREGOPT to safely compact the registry. I use ERUNT to back it up also. http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/index.htm

If I were to use a registry defrag then I advise that you check out this thread. The product you are using is dangerous.

Also this is very alarming. http://www.download.com/WinASO-RegDefrag/3...tml?tag=foot_ur

My registry is too important to take this risk !!!

Defraggler currently does not have an option to defragment the registry. Maybe later, maybe never ?

Good luck, :) davey

I use this PageDefrag and it defragments the registry at every boot. And also the pagefile.sys and the hiberfil.sys. (Not for Vista!)

But I think it only defragment but not optimise it.

Because I just installed "Free Registry Defrag" mentioned by "CeeCee" here: Erunt-Ngtropt - Piriform Forums and I did the analyse. It said there would be a gain of 10% when optimizing.

Same here -- works very well.

A gain of 10% of what? In doing what?

Reducing the overall size of the registry.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Free Registry Defrag and Ntregopt and if both are used for same purposes which one is best.

Thanks in advance.

Free Registry Defrag is just an advert for Registry Clean Expert but it does check the registry.

NTREGOPT is free.

Hi,

Free Reg Defrag shows the % gain expected in an analyse before the optimizing and Ntregopt does not.
