How can I revert to CCleaner 6?

Hi Forum. I really REALLY don’t like CCleaner 7. Is there a way to revert to version 6 and keep it there?

CCleaner 7 is currently only in Beta, so you can download the latest version of CCleaner 6 via the CCleaner website.

Hi PapaVos. I can tell you what I did in Windows 10. Went to System/Settings/Apps, found CC7 and clicked uninstall. Restarted the PC. Then went to CCleaner website and downloaded their latest offering, which is still a version of 6. Of course had to go through the usual startups since it saw me as a new user. Hint: there’s a none-too-obvious link there to give a massive discount on the Pro version, about $15 a year. I took it; used to use the Pro version and it’s nice. I’ve been using CCleaner for nearly ten years, if memory serves. Good luck.

Do the following:

Download the ‘Official’ v6.‘’ installer from here and double click the downloaded file to install it: Download CCleaner builds | CCleaner Portable, Slim, and more

You now have both CCleaner v6 and CCleaner v7Beta installed.
You can simply uninstall the v7 Beta. (or you can leave it there and ignore it until it gets fully released).

I’m probably too late to reinstall v6. For me, the link in nukecad’s post wants to install v7.

While in v6 I accepted the update to v7 and I absolutely HATE it!! I looked around on v7 and it… is… a… NIGHTMARE!! I do NOT trust it. CCleaner might delete something essential to MY pc because of an overlooked setting buried somewhere else in CCleaner.

Thanks for posting that - It has indeed changed and v7.0.984 is now the “Latest official release”.

If you have Automatic Updating of CCleaner enabled it should roll out to you soon.

PS. I do note that if I ‘Check for updates’ in my installed v6.39 it currently still says that v6.39 is the latest version, that will change as the roll-out progresses worldwide.

I’ve used your product for decades. I could configure the product and customize it in seconds; now, I can’t find anything. Please fix the interface. Modern interface is not efficient.

CCleaner 7 is garbage. I will not renew anything from them if they don’t stop messing with it. Now they think they are microsoft. This version 7 is total complete garbage.

Search online for v6 downloads then immediately after installing, disable the auto update feature. At least it’ll work until they fix the mess that v7 is.

We now have numerous posts from users dissapointed with the new v7 and asking if/how they can roll back to v6.39. Whilst normally I would say that you should use the latest version that works on your machine I also believe that you should have the choice to roll back from a major feature update.
