Today i received a email from the developer of hostman stating they have implemented the feature i suggested of selecting multiple host files for updates rather then single ones. For those of you interested it can be found here.
i tried installing it but it gave me a weird error saying 12/30/1899 was not a valid time or date i have know idea what it is talking about!?

Could this be the true beginning of Y2K.
Y2K???????
how do i fixed it so i can use the program?
I got a similar message i then cancelled that installation and deleted the folder in which hostsman was installed(you should have already uninstalled) along with the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\abelhadigital.com there maybe also be one in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\. Then reinstall and it should work.
I was joking. Sounds like a strange error to me. I would report it to the hostman people.
Edit:
Nevermind englishmen knows how to fix it.
I have already reported it
can anyone tell me where my hosts file is?
nvm i found out
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Nvm you found it
what are th hosts files?
I also tried what you said but i could not find that folder or anything else. I also tried installing it again and it did not work.
The folders C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\abelhadigital.com & C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\abelhadigital.com are hidden. I'm assuming you found the hostsman installation folder and deleted it?
i don't have the Application Data file.
I even searched my computer for it but could not find it...
What application file?
yuo said up topthat i had to go into C;doc and setting then all users then into a application folder i don't ahve any application folder in the all user folder or any other user?
Its hidden as i said open a folder click "tools", "Folder options", "View" under advanced settings you will see "Hidden files and folders" click show hidden files and folders. Then repeat what i said and reinstall hostsman.
thanks for your time and help i was just being an idiot lol.
Thanks again
No problem, im assuming its working now then?
yup.
Howdy-
This ? may be for englishmen. Does HostMan have to be running i.e. in the notification tray? Since it's basically just a file, I don't let it run because the 4% CPU it needs sometime bogs down my ancient, decrepit computer. I'm guessing it's there to start faster if you want to modify the file.
Definite question for englishmen- Did you ever get your modem working OK?
Whenever I need a laugh I play that Underground Song although I did need to look up the definition of w**nker
Thanks
