Help Recovering After Quick Format

So, this is what I did.

I was trying to install Ubuntu on a spare hard drive but I forgot my external was still connected. Once I selected the "erase", and it started, I remembered. The drive had over 250 GB / 62,000 Files on it. I tried using testdisk but it didn't restore a lot of my data and it didn't restore the names or file structure of what it was able to recover. I can't realistically go though 62,000 files and rename them all. :(

I'm trying to use Recuva now but it can't see my drive. I'm assuming it's still in the format Ubuntu set it as. Is there anything the Recuva program can do for me? Should I use Windows 7 to quick format it again so it can see it, or will that make things worse?

Thank you for any help you guys can give me.

You've destroyed your file entries with quick format there are no quick fix solutions to get your filenames back.

You could try a Win format and then a Recuva scan with Scan for Non-Deleted Files checked - at your own risk of course.
