Remove any cd's or usb memory sticks/flash drives.
Boot imto safe mode any select Last Known Good Config, if that doesn't work boot into safe mode again and uninstall any program/drivers etc you may have just installed.
Do you think it is a virus/malware problem?
What were you doing before you closed the machine down?

I dont think its virus/malware issue. Last time, I ran MBAM and SAS scanner and clean
yesterday, before shutdown... my brother ran Wise registry cleaner without create RP /backup
I think WRC has messed up my registry.
Hazel,I tried to boot in safe mode or select last known good conf but failed. Now I have no taskbar /start button. all i can do to access Win Explorer is Objectdock..thank GOD.
another problem is IE can't load so MBAM can't run /update.
I just wanna get my RP back in oder to solve all problems that caused by WRC.
Well there were Windows Updates on Tuesdays, if you applied those perhaps that's the issue.
If you however think it's malware related you can make a Bart PE bootable CD on a clean computer with ClamWin Portable (download the definition updates first) then burn it onto the same CD with Bart PE, or even something like Avast Virus Cleaner.
Boot your computer with the Bart PE boot CD, and scan your computer with ClamWin Portable.
and big problem I can't get into system restore point.
If you happen to have superantispyware you have a repairs tab, you can try and fix task bar and system restore, obviously I would suggest to repair the system restore first.
I can't start MBAM and yes Ctrl+alt+del show it so I type as you suggested then I got " system restore isn't able to protect your computer.please restart and run sys res again " I have XP Pro SP3 (fully patches/updated).

Give him a good telling off.
If you use Windows XP you'll need to do this I've did it before and it works, however you need to have another known good backup copy of the registry available after the fix either from ERUNT or System Restore.
If you're using Windows Vista try this and/or this.
SOL comes to mind! If Abu uses XP and has the recovery console already installed he can still use those XP instructions. If he doesn't have the recovery console installed and is using XP, well he's SOL.
Edit:
Maybe not SOL after all. Using a Bart PE boot disc like I previously mentioned he could manually copy those Windows registry files to get a working registry back. Still has to have a valid System Restore point or ERUNT back available though to restore his registry after the computer starts up!
