I recently purchased a CCleaner Professional Plus (1-year / 3 devices) key from a seller on [REMOVED] but the activation key they provided does not work. When I enter the code manually (not copy-paste) in CCleaner, it returns “invalid” and doesn’t register on my device. I tried multiple times to confirm.
I contacted the seller and after providing screenshots and confirming manual entry, they told me to “contact CCleaner support to activate the key” — however, I haven’t been able to find an email/ticket portal or phone number for CCleaner support outside the regular website support articles.
Key issue: Key appears invalid / not recognized Where purchased: [REMOVED] Software version: CCleaner Professional Plus – latest version (v7)
Has anyone dealt with this before?
Is there a proper support channel to verify or activate third-party keys?
Or does this likely mean the key is invalid and I should request a refund from [REMOVED]
Any guidance or official CCleaner support contact path would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Was this one of the supposedly £0.75 licences advertused on there by any chance?
There’s a reason why it’s so cheap - They are not genuine
Too good to be true is exactly that.
You have bought an invalid licence from an unofficial seller.
(It might be a keygen, or they might have sold what was a valid licence hundreds of times so it got invalidated, there are a number of different scam licence methods).
Sorry but- You have been scammed.
If it was one of those £0.75 ones then it hasn’t cost you much- YET
The scammers now have your email address and if you have been really careless they have your payment card details.
You might want to do something about that, like changing them.
PS. If you bought a fake Rolex would you expect Rolex to give you a real one?
Thanks for the reply — and for the laugh!
You’re right, I wouldn’t expect Rolex to swap out a fake for the real deal — great analogy.
The site I bought from is a large marketplace with a reputation for legitimacy, so I rolled the dice. Lesson learned. I’ll pursue it through my bank or dispute process and chalk this one up to experience.
