Half the apps I had installed got erased by the app

During a clean up, I decided to try out the uninstaller feature of the app, and tried erasing 3 apps simultaneously. For the meantime I ran a scan on duplicated items. Upon seeing that both the uninstaller and the duplicate finder were unresponsive, I decided to close the app. Instantly after closing the app, various pop ups appeared notifying that most of the direct access I had were nonfunctional due to the apps being deleted. Every browser I had (Including microsoft edge) got uninstalled, game launchers, coding apps and about left all the current apps barely functional. The app itself got uninstalled during the whole thing, it mainly targeted the execution files on each app and i think the only reason it didn’t delete the whole drive clean was due to me terminating the app. I had no backup during the whole thing due to being unaware of how unpolished the app was regarding this, and I would like to request help in trying to back up the files that were lost.

Hi @GotF-EDBYCCLEANER,
To help us investigate the issue and understand what may be happening, please generate CCleaner log files by following the steps below:

  1. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool using the link below: https://download.ccleaner.com/CCleanerSupportTool.exe
  2. Once installed, run the tool to generate the logs.
  3. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.
  4. Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

If you run into any problems or have questions, please let me know.

Hi @Laurence_CCleaner
Thanks for answering, here’s the ID: WBK6L
As I said in my previous post, the ccleaner app got deleted as well and due to trying to get the license key, I downloaded it once again. I am just pointing this out since am not certain if this will affect the log file.

@GotF-EDBYCCLEANER, thank you for these log files. Please could you let me know which apps you were intending to uninstall via the uninstaller and which apps were uninstalled without your intention?

As I said earlier the every app executable got targeted first, and I was left with most of the direct accesses nonfunctional, here’s the apps that got affected:

all of office is nonfunctional: Word, powerpoint, teams, excel, etc
all of the game launchers I had are also nonfunctional: Battlenet, EA app, riot games, steam etc
all the coding apps: Visual Code Studio, Docker, Db browser for sql, netbeans etc
various utility apps: Process lasso, G hub, razer synapse, virtualBox ,winrar, itunes.
I cant recall what apps i had and what I didn’t have, I was trying to uninstall LG onscreen control and the LG color calibration, I cant remember the third app, but it wasnt anything critical for the system to function properly.

@GotF-EDBYCCLEANER My question is, which apps were you intending to uninstall using the uninstaller feature in CCleaner?

I was trying to uninstall LG onscreen control and the LG color calibration, I cant remember the third app, but it wasnt anything critical for the system to function properly.

Thanks for these details @GotF-EDBYCCLEANER I have passed this on to the team investigating this issue and I will follow up when I have an update.
