Ironically, I don't have school today December 13 - Thursday. The impending storm shut down basically every school system here. Its 9:32 AM...and no snow ... I'm basically in the middle of the state.
Actually Richard, I love skiing! I plan on going to some bigger mountains this year over my February break -- Jay Peak Resort is what I'm aiming for. But, a beach does sound nice right now !!!

I graduated back in 1991.But I can still remember listening to KYW 1060 in Philadelphia.My school's snow number was 301. The waiting while they counted the numbers was nail biting, but when you heard that your school was closed for the day,it was like hitting the lottery!
Just try to stay safe on the icy roads.
My girlfriend is a TICA and last year she saw snow for the first time when we were in Northern Arizona., She forced me to pull over on the highway so she could run around in a field and try to catch snow flakes.
Hit those slopes and keep me posted.

I spent 7 glorious months in Costa Rica in a small fishing village called Playa Del Coco that is on the north west coast about an hour south of the Nicaragua border.
I had the pleasure of ushering in the new millennium partying the night away sipping the local rum that was $2.00 a bottle and mixing it with Sprite that was $6.00 a bottle
The next day myself complete with a hangover and a couple of friends went for a tour around Arenal and we met a fellow that was German who had a Costa Rican wife that owned a small hotel where we stayed for a night.
I really liked Tamarindo but it was too expensive for me to stay there but it was only a bit over an hour drive there.
There was a good sea food restaurant in Playa Hermosa that I ate at every once in a while.
I met a young lady from Heredia and we toured around a bit and I really liked the hot springs and mud baths after a horseback ride through a bit of the rain forest up past the village of Curubunde in Rincon De La Vieja.

I'll agree with you on that one. I've noticed myself not enjoying the cold winter weather as much anymore (yes it does get cold here every now and then...lol) and even my parents have said they don't miss the snow and ice and blustery winds from when we lived on Long Island. I'll admit, snow is pretty to look at and I do miss snowball fights and sledding, but I think going to the beach in December is much more enjoyable. lol
