good file deleter?

Does anyone know of a file deleter that can delete pretty much anything?

Encrypt/Secure Rewrite thing so it can't be recovered isn't important.

Just delete files that can't be deleted by right clicking and delete

I.E. Files from P2P applications w/ file names longer than 255 characters (Windows can't delete those for some reason)

Stuff like delete on boot, delete by short name, etc..

I was just reading about this yesterday and someone used this for p2p long file names and it worked for them ( the free version they used)

of course there is always my favourite unlocker which most people use

and this tip below I got from annoyances. org,

>To delete the file just right click on the folder above the very last folder you

>wish too delete and click on RENAME.Proceed to rename the folder and then delete

>that folder and you will have deleted the last 2 folders of that annoying mess you

>were in.You can delete all other folders from the very first folder with no problem.I

>had a folder with over a 100 embedded folders within with same name(dayum).Funny

>but that was the name of all of the folders

Let us know how you get on :)

The well known security app "Hijackthis" has a delete file on reboot function under misc tools tab.

Haven't had a need to use it as yet so don't know if it's as good as those mentioned by Hazel.

Or you can even try the below using only XP's resources.

Open Command prompt type DEL hit space bar and drag / drop file into command prompt window.

Open Task Manager / processes and kill explorer.exe, go to CMD prompt and hit enter.

Go to Task Manager / New Task and type explorer.exe hit ok.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but it might be a step in the right direction Look at Phantom's site here. There you can get both a secure recycle bin eraser and a folder/file eraser. Options for file/folder erasing are added to the context menu and can be changed by editing the reg file(s).
