GeForce RTX 4060 showing as 4GB not 8GB

Hello,

Sorry to post this issue, I’ve used Speccy for a long time and never had any problems with it, but today I’ve come across a small issue that may be known or may not.

My GeForce RTX 4060 is an 8GB DDR6 Card, however in Speccy it’s only showing as 4091MB. Running GPU-Z as a suggestion from Reddit, this returns the cards correct size straight away.

I’m unsure why Speccy is returning half the memory size. Is it something I need to amend in the settings or is this a known issue?

Again, I’m a long time user and fan of Speccy, so apologies for stopping by to drop this issue on the laps of anyone.

Hi!
I’m having the same problem.
I have 2 x RTX 3060 12GB, one RTX 5070 12GB and one Nvidia Tesla A100 80 GB.
The memory of RTX GPUs are reported as 4 GB and the Tesla A100 is not even detected!
It’s not rocket science to read GPU memory size - I can write a script in PowerShell, or small C/C++ code that can detect everything about the installed GPUs, so it’s a very disappointing that a nice software like Speccy can’t detect the correct VRAM size.
A simple PowerShell command like “Get-CimInstance Win32_VideoController” gives more correct information.
Why am I supposed to pay for a software, if the information is not correct?

Speccy has not had an update for years.

It still mostly works, and help sites like BC still ask for it’s logs, but it can be erratic with identifying newer technology.
