Front stereo and microphone jacks not working!

OK, first of all, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and since it was installed, my front stereo jack and microphone jacks are not working. When I was still using Vista, they worked perfectly fine. I know I should have asked this long ago.

I do have another stereo jack, another microphone jack and a line in jack on the back of my PC. My speakers are actually plugged on the rear stereo jack and my microphone is plugged on my rear microphone jack.

But I always have to plug my headset to my speakers to hear sounds cause the FRONT jack is not working for a reason I don't know. Plugging the headset directly to the computer's stereo jack somehow gives a better sound quality.

I tried installing the Realtek Audio Driver than came with my motherboard's setup CD but it doesn't work on Windows 7. Back when I was using Vista, I actually enabled the front panel detection from the settings module of my Realtek Audio driver.

I have checked for updates for my sound adapter but there doesn't seem to be any.

Is there anything, I can do to make the front panel jacks work again????

Thanks for the link, but is that forum the official Windows 7 forum??? It seems quite interesting though but looking to some other source, it seems that I have to enable a different audio device from the BIOS which I did but I found no other audio device besides the default HD audio thing.

However, I am not sure which Realtek Audio Driver is compatible with my sound adapter but if I get a sound card, would that make the front panel work???

It's a very well respected forum for all things Win 7 related.

Did you look through the 3 pages in the thread?

Well I did not look at the second and third pages as the people there had different computer BIOSes than me. But better have a look then.
