Freeze when used on a specific partition / translation glitch

when using defraggler on my data partition, defraggler freezes. I already chkdsked it, still same problem.

because of freezing, I also found a translation glitch in german language: "Quick Defrah gestartet" where "Quick Defrag gestartet" should be printed ^^

Some Data about my partition(s):

500 GB drive, 1 primary, 2 logical partitions. primary is 15GB, second is 50gb, 3rd is whats left.

Defraggler works fine with 1st and second partition, but reproduceable freezes every time when trying to defrag the 3rd one...

even analysing the partition makes defraggler freeze

It sounds like you have bad sectors, to confirm this check the event logs (eventvwr.exe) and look for "bad block" errors.

If you want further confirmation then try the freeware disk utility MHDD and scan your drive or repair patch out bad sectors at the same time.

ok, problem solved - used windows defrag and now defraggler is working fine again - seems like defraggler had a problem with 2 heavyly fragmented files (~25.0000 parts in ~ 2.5 GB)

as I wrote i used chkdsk, so there were/are no bad sectors
