Fragmentation is WORSE after defrag

Hi I've been using defraggler for a few months now and I have to say its very good and beats the hell out of the stuff windows tries to flog us.

But recently I've been having problems with defraggler.

I ran defraggler yesterday on my works computer before I left for home. It said after it analysed it that the drive was 46% fragmented.

When I came back this morning, it said it had finished but the analytical diagram was no different, with fragmented files here and there, also it now said it was 48% fragmented.

So I've just been on my lunch break and left it to run again. Yet again it says its completed not many file have been sorted and my disk fragmentation is now 64% and claiming 31 fragmented files are left!

This has also happened on a friends computer, where it cuts the defrag short and doesn't defrag any of the files.

the Drive I'm defragging has 2 partitions on the same disk: 1 designated as the OS (224GB) and 1 as "backup"(10GB)

has anyone got any advice?

cheers

Perhaps running it in debug mode may help show what is wrong (see info here)

Can you also state your operating system please :)

Hello Defragger Team,

I concur with the previous author that Defraggler is a GREAT, GREAT piece of s/w, and that it has worked for me 100% of the time, for about 10 computers, except that in the last 2-weeks or so, Defraggler is NOT defragmenting my drives on 2 of my computers.

One compuer is XP SP2, and the other is Vista 64-bit Home Premium.

Is there anyway I can send you a debug file or 'dump' for you to analyze? And how would I go about creating a debug log for you?

Thank you!!

Hi deedee.

Hello,

I too have been experiencing an increase in fragmented files for the last few days.

Attached is my debug log.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Adam
