I've been recently having an issue with defraggler where when I go to do a defrag on my main harddrive with a Windows 7-64 bit installation (1.0 TB HDD,) the fragmentation only goes higher. Example: My HDD was at 11% fragmented, and after the defrag, upon analyzing the drive it went to 14%.
Additional details: I have 2 hard drives set up here, the one with the issue with the windows 7 64-bit installation and another that's a 2.0 TB HDD, they are setup in AHCI mode if that helps any. Not sure if it could be a conflict or something. The affected hard drive with this issue is only 6-7 months old as well.
Is there any possible way to resolve this? Is this a symptom of a failing hard drive or something else? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
