Foxit Reader 2.3.3201

Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size (only a few M download size), breezing-fast launch speed and rich feature set. Foxit Reader supports Windows Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7.

Thanks for the heads up Ken.

Edit: Just for info, I tried this with Returnil, and I can't get rid of the ad in the usual way.

I can't get rid of it either for some reason.

They probably put a stop to it intentionally. Big surprise there :rolleyes:

I must just be lucky but I have never seen an ad, and have never tried no to :huh:

What does it look like, and when does it show?

I guess this is referring to something else ?

Breezing-fast: When you run Foxit Reader, it launches instantly without any delay. You are not forced to view an annoying splash window displaying company logo, author names, etc.

The ad appears on the tool bar. You can right click and remove it with other tool bar components but it appears every time you launch Foxit unless you use the method Dennis figured out a while ago.

I actually had a feeling part of the update would be a fix for the simple way of binning the ad, which is why I used Returnil. The previous version does enough for me.

Previous version 2.3 Build 2923: Available on File Hippo for anyone who wants it back.

Edit: Deleted a couple of lines. Hazels query already explained by Anthony.

I have enough Toolbars with One and that's Google's Toolbar.

I dislike application installation utilities that have Toolbars pre-selected for installation:

Installers Hall of Shame (Unwanted add-on)

I downloaded and installed the application without the toolbar:

I'm not seeing any ad in it whatsoever, after applying that ad hiding tip.

I make my own installer version of it using the downloaded ZIP archive with Inno Setup.

I'm not talking about a tool bar added to the install. I'm talking about the actual Foxit Toolbar that is part of the GUI of Foxit. It contains the ad.

I think there is several different things being discussed here. The ad Dennis is referring to is the one that shows up in the Foxit GUI. I don't know what you are talking about YoKenny. I have never seen a addon toolbar with Foxit. Could be because I use the zip version not the installer.

It's only available on their download page with the Foxit Toolbar. Anyways the only way someone would end up with the toolbar included is if they don't read the text on the download page because they clearly have written that it comes with the toolbar.

They have four compiles of it for download:

* Zip, no installer.

* EXE Installer, no toolbar.

* EXE Installer, with toolbar.

* MSI Installer, no toolbar.
