Forum Response Time Slow, Sluggish

Has anyone else noticed a response time slow down this morning. Most pages are waiting for content.invisioncic.com

Yes I had a 504 earlier when I tried to reach the forum.

Perhaps it may have something to do with the load the internet is under due to everyone being at home because of coronavirus.

I did when making a post, it took ages, although the forum has had such issues for 14-15 years on a regular enough basis.

Okay, thanks. So it's not just me. ? I'm sure the internet is overloaded.

That's probably why my area lost Internet access this morning, thought it was the online game I was playing since it regularly has server issues (but not early in the morning) but nope it wasn't the game and I was obviously one of the first to report it because the ISP tech support knew nothing.

If connections become unreliable some ISP's should really consider overall stability and reducing speed by capping them to prevent over-usage blackouts - I'd rather have reduced speed with reliability and the ability to use the Internet versus it just being broken.

Streaming services, Netflix, Youtube, et-al, have already reduced their streaming quality in Europe to cut data consumption.

Not sure if they've done it in the US yet.

With everone at home streaming movies, and playing online RPGs, etc. then there will be noticable differences, especially for city dwellers.

I'm rural, so while I don't usually get a fast a connection as in the city I'm not noticing any difference today yet on speeds.

I am noticing that a few particular servers are strugling to meet demands.

Here in the UC the Open University Free course website has been almost unreachable today, it's better now that it's a meal time.

I guess many have decided to learn something new while on enforced absence from work.

Some sites are just really slow, should be expected though. Disconnection in online games is nothing new, happens regular enough during normal circumstances however playing the games when most people are asleep in your country/time-zone is a good solution to avoid disconnection.

Try turning off your microwave (radar oven)

Now, today, when posting a reply it looks like it never posts it since it just sits in the edit window where we submit reply. However opening the topic in another tab shows that it was successful. Might result into some double-posting.
