Foreign language on older operating systems

Speccy on Windows XP & Vista uses a foreign language when running the latest executables.

All components (CPU, RAM etc) are also in that foreign language.

If the same executable is ran on Windows 7, the executable is in English.

Emailed twice - no answer. This has been an issue for 2 years, maybe longer.

It normally picks up the language that has been set in Windows, most software does that.

Check what language Windows is set to on the machines where it is not in English.

You can also change it just for Speccy itself.

Appreciate this. I will configure this in options.

The operating systems are in English and came from Ccleaner. I noticed that the installer had a green apple though.

This is just a bug that apparently isnt well known.

Try it out on XP and Vista x32.

The green apple is actually a pear and is there because the program hasn’t had an update since the company changed from Piriform to CCleaner as a brand name. The pear was Piriform’s logo.

@Nergal You’re right.

I knew Ccleaner purchased Piriform, but forgot the name…

They should update it some time. I’m fine with the screen, but the bugs are a problem.

They advertise that it works with XP, but those users have to troubleshoot. I’m surprised the bug has lasted this long, shouldve been fixed by now.

I like to use XP as a backup machine. My main machine is win7, and my other is windows 11. I use it if I have to - and for travel.

Nope not purchased just changed name, then AVG/Avast bought them, then gen digital (norton) bought them.
