Flash player.

Just a reminder that the latest version is now 10.2.159.1

Versions for both IE and other browsers can be downloaded from here

http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/

Download it and then uninstall your old version via add/remove and then install new one.

Check which version of flash you have running here

Thanks :)

Your second link is broken though (the "..." are part of the link...maybe that's a forum bug?)

Fixed the link, and thanks for the heads up.

hazel wasn't in but she'd left the door open.

Filehippo now already lists Flash Player 10.3.181.5 (RC1) on this location.

The latest version of Flash Player (for all platforms and browsers) can always be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

I would rather continue with an old Flash that has known vulnerabilities than go to Adobe and let them contaminate my machine.

Adobe may possibly allow me to get a Flash with no publicly known vulnerabilities and thus a false sense of security,

but first they attempted to deceive me by installing GetTrash or some such downloader to then supervise both the download and the installation of Flash.

I recognised and aborted their GetTrash 3 or 4 times before I was satisfied that there really was no option but to install GetTrash before getting Flash

Since then I found FileHippo gave Flash without Trash, so that is the only source for me.

I believe Adobe may now permit Flash without Trash, which to me signifies they have a new way of subverting my control of my PC.

A rabid dog only gets to take one bite from me - I am not going back to Adobe.

NB I realise Adobe spell GetTrash a different way, but my way is a more accurate way of describing what you get.

I like your name for their stupid installer

FileHippo is great though - it'd be a pain in the *** if they didn't provide the normal installers (although I think they are hidden somewhere in Adobe's website...)

I use a small *.SWF file to tell me which version of Flash I have installed. See attachment.

To play this *.swf file one needs a version of Flash to be installed and a stand alone SWF player like e.g. SWF Player from a company called GlobFX (http://www.globfx.co...oads/swfplayer/)

I would rather continue with an old Flash that has known vulnerabilities than go to Adobe and let them contaminate my machine.

Unlike the default download page with the download manager and its bundled crapware, the link that I posted are clean downloads, where most likely 3rd-party download sites like Filehippo obtain their downloads.

The link also contains MSI installers, and installers for other platforms like Mac and Linux.

Why not just go here Willy?
